Fun Flip Flop Swap!

Lyryn over at Breaking Through had this great idea!  It's summertime or close to it and we all wear flip flops!
So she organzied a flip flop swap!
My partner was Shay over at ~sweet silver linings~

These are the cute flip flops I received.

I love these because of the color, they are a matte silver, and can be worn with anything !
They are super cute, classy and comfortable and from one of my favorite stores Old Navy!

I wore them out with my husband the same day I received them and can't wait to wear them again!
Thank you, Shay, you did a wonderful job, I love them!!

Monday, Monday

This is my work Monday, yay.  :-P Ok, not so much Yay.
I really wish that I did not have to work, but had the money to stay at home, pay my bills, travel like I'd like to and a little left over for mad money.
Not happening any time soon, so it's off to work I go.
Here are the hops I'm following today:

Weekend Hops

I know I haven't done a post in a few days.  It has been a busy and crazy week.  The bathroom is progressing, just subtly now, and hard to tell in a picture what the progress was.  This morning I went to Lowe's to pick up some things needed for the finishing touches in the bathroom, then we ran out to my "Uncle" Paul's to get some more plums for more jelly.  I think I have enough juice for 3 more batches of jelly.  Got home, hit the pool for an hour or so, then came in for some "meditation time" (aka nap).  Then hit the shower and back to town, to the mall for my husband to get him some clothes, BACK to Lowe's for something I forgot this morning, out to eat and then WalMart for a few household items.  WHEW!

Here are the weekend hops I'm participating in:

The Seriously Random Questions Meme, Pt. 1

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser.
Today we ripped off a blogger known as blogger and blog named PT-LawMom. I

2. Your best friend tells you she is pregnant. What is your reaction?
I would be ecstatic for her, once we both finish crying about being too old to be having babies and starting over!  That would be with Nancy, my BFF.  Then if it were my BFF daughter, Kristen, I would also be ecstatic, and hope that she does not find the Doc that tied her tubes, cause she is gonna get him!

Tuesday Hops and Progress on the Bathroom

So I'm a little late posting and joining hops for Tuesday, but better late than never as the saying goes.  Have had a busy day, did some more jelly today that actually jelled.  The 10 jars I did Sunday evening did not jell and I'm aggravated with myself for not reading the instructions carefully enough.  I got 17 jars done today, and hopefully will be able to get some more plums this weekend for more.  I don't just hoard my jelly though, I share with friends and family.

Here is the progress on the bathroom from the last two days.  I went to Jacksonville, FL to pick up our     "adopted" daughter, Ashley,  that will be staying with us for a bit while her husband, our "adopted" son, Stephen wraps up his Air Force career in Minot, ND.  We got home last night and this was done....

Charles, who is our renovator, is working on a project during the day for our school board, and he comes here after a full day of work, and works another couple of hours.  This next picture is of the ceiling that is no longer a popcorn ceiling.  Eventually, we will get rid of all the popcorn ceilings in the house.  Baby steps.

Then this was the progress today.

When a project is in your mind and you are choosing colors, fixtures, cabinetry and tile you have an idea of how you hope it will mesh together and look.  So far, I've been very pleased with our choices.  See the board under the shower?  We were thinking of placing the same glass tiles that are above the shower, but now I don't know if I would not prefer the 4" tiles that match the floor tiles.  What do y'all think?

On to hops....these are where I've linked up today.

Monday, Monday....and Monday hops

Ok, I won't go any further with those lyrics....
Usually I love Mondays, but not so much today.  Actually it started yesterday with the AC going on the fritz.  This always happens when my hubby is not home.  Last time I suffered for a couple of days in the heat, he comes home, spends one night sweltering and we go buy a window unit to augment the central AC.  Unfortunately our bedroom is not habitable right now, due to the bathroom renovation that is going on.
See all that dust on the floor?  It's all over the bedroom too!  It actually looks a little better at this moment as you can see below, there has been some progress towards putting it back together.
So that is going on, then I have more plum juice to make jelly with, which creates heat in the kitchen.
But isn't it pretty?  I did this last night around 10pm when the temp in the house got somewhat bearable again.
Started out like this:
Then you boil them to make the juice:

Then you can make the jelly that turns out all pretty like this:

The sad thing is, I was so hot and flustered, and had a massive heat headache, that I did not follow the directions exactly, so I'm not sure that it is going to jell.  Good thing I have more juice so I can do another cooking after I run to get some more jars and sure jell. At least there are more plums where those came from.
Right now the AC guy is here and hopefully the house will cool off soon, if he can fix it.  My fear is that we will end up needing a new central air unit, which will cost $$ and we are in the middle of the bathroom redo.  Yay, just found out it was a simple fix and cheaper than a new unit by thousands!  Whew!  Now to run to town and get what I need for jelly making!
Here are the Monday hops I'm linking to and I am featured as the Hot Blog of the Week on the Follow Us Monday Morning hop Hosted by Frugality is Free  and  Being Frugal and Making It Work  Thanks so much ladies!

I do not usually leave the first paragraph of Sunday Stealing, but this week feel like it's needed.

The Team Jeffie Meme

Please read: We have a bit of a twist to Sunday Stealing this week. We steal from blogs living or dead. It doesn't matter to us. But the meme we stumbled across this week was the last post the man, Jeff, ever posted. It had a preamble from his wife, Amy. She explained he was in a terrible accident and directed people to her Team Jeffie website. We did a bit of searching. What happened to Jeff? We thought before we just go ahead and publish. But that did not seem right. Instead, we decided to find out if Jeff was okay and if his wife minded our theft. We wrote to his wife, Amy asking that question. Amy first wrote:

Bud-

If you point to anything, please point to the Team Jeffie page here on Facebook (facebook.com/teamjeffie) -- if you flip back through the entries from the past six months, you'll begin to get a sense of how horrific these months have been. Especially for the months of December and January, when our only goals were 'survival' and 'eventual consciousness.'

Prior to his accident, Jeff was an extraordinarily gifted engineer. In the past six months, he has relearned to breathe, to talk, to feed himself, to walk. We have learned, much to our astonishment, that if he perseveres with his therapy, there is a good chance that he might resume his engineering work -- not now, not soon, but eventually.

Imagine a man who loves audio work so much that he was back mixing live performances when he still needed a walker, and still struggled to speak clearly all the time. (I should note that his skills survived the accident. It was amazing to see.)

Jeff, his family, his friends, and I have been through a lot. We are very real people going through a horrific life event, and we need genuine support and care, not curious onlookers.

We were extraordinarily introverted before the accident, and the months since have been doubly traumatic -- not only are we going through this, we're having to go through it with zero privacy.

Whatever you say ... please be kind. That's all I can ask.

We wrote her back to say that her words would introduce our meme. Today, please click on her Team Jeffie website. Just say “hi” and wish him well. We're hoping that those of you with the time could also help our new friends Amy and Jeffie. Let them know they've got new friends that care. We hope we've been kind. God bless them. God bless you, our friends!

Bud Weiser

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let's go!!!

Today we ripped off a blogger named Jeff from the blog Sliding Constant. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!
